What is a certified Hand Therapist (C.H.T)?

A Certified hand therapist is an occupational therapist or a physiotherapist who specializes in the treatment of hands. They must have a minimum of 5 years experience with at least 4000 hours in hand therapy and have successfully completed the hand therapy certification commission exam.

Mary Lee (Principal)

Mary Lee Dip O.T. , C.H.T has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for 22 years. She graduated from the Central Institute of Technology in Wellington N.Z. in 1989. She achieved her Certified Hand Therapy Credentials in 1998.

Mary has had 16 years clinical experience in the field of hand therapy working in both hospitals and private practice settings . She has worked in N.Z.,Australia,England and the U.S.A. In 1998 she achieved her Certified Hand Therapy credentials while working in the hand trauma unit at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington D.C.

She then returned to Sydney and worked in a hand therapy practice for 5 years before establishing Dynamic Hand Therapy in 2005. Mary has been a full member of the Australian hand Therapy Association (M.A.H.T.A) since 2000.

Jenny Triggs

Jenny Triggs B. App. Sci. O.T. graduated from the university of Sydney in 1986 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy.

Jenny has had 20 years clinical experience working in hand therapy in both hospital and private practice settings. She has worked at St. George public Hospital covering burns and rheumatology caseloads and as a senior Occupational therapist in the hand therapy unit for four years.

She then worked in private practice in Sydney for 9 years before joining Dynamic Hand Therapy in 2005.Jenny has lectured undergraduate Occupational Therapy students at the University of Sydney in Hand Therapy. She has been a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association(M.A.H.T.A) since 1993.

Lara Griffiths

Lara Griffiths B. App. Sci O.T. C.H.T graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy.

She achieved her Certified Hand Therapy credentials in 2003. Lara has had 13 years clinical experience working in the field of hand therapy. Lara has worked in private practice in Vermont in the U.S.A. and has gained extensive clinical experience while working in the hand therapy unit at Westmead hospital and a number of private practices in Sydney.

Lara has been actively involved with the A.H.T.A. as divisional representative for N.S.W. in 2010 and serving on a number of conference committees. Lara has been with Dynamic Hand Therapy since 2010. She has been a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (M.A.H.T.A) since 2005.
